I really enjoyed spending time photographing this family in the Montrose area on Sunday. Stella’s first birthday is coming up, so we took these photos to document the occasion and capture some of the cutest things about being 12 months old. Just on the cusp of taking off running, this little girl was ready to roam once we got her started… until it hit her that it’s actually pretty hot outside, and after that she was content to be carried with her sippy cup! It’s a fun but exhausting age, and I know her parents are so proud of their beautiful and playful daughter!
We couldn’t be more excited for Elodie’s auntie Tosha as she prepares to move out of the country next month! But obviously there is also a painful part of this, because it means we have to say goodbye for now. She has been such a wonderful aunt to both of our kids, and Elodie loves the nights when she stops by and reads her stories and gets her to bed. It will be so different not to have her aunt nearby, but of course we will make sure to see each other and talk often, with video chat. We had this photo session together one morning last week along Buffalo Bayou, and watching their happy faces playing together in this field just makes my heart swell. We got some beautiful images that I know will go on the walls of both of our homes, as a sweet reminder that we are a family, near and far.
I had an awesome time on Sunday with this fun and silly family of five! Everyone had so much energy and of course, everyone was fascinated with the blue trees art installation, but mainly as a backdrop for more fun activities like hide-and-seek. I was exhausted when I got home, but I bet these little ones were just getting started for the day!
I’m excited to share the first of my midsummer mini sessions that I’m offering weeknights in July only! While we had to reschedule around the only 2 days of rain Houston has had in several weeks, I’m so glad that finally met up with this beautiful family for their maternity photos. This mom came with so many fun ideas, and I think everyone was excited about their cute pink balloons! Their son is going to make such a great big brother to his baby sister — he was so energetic and happy!
