I had a great time with this expecting mom and her sister in Memorial Park earlier this fall — Daddy is serving our country and was overseas during our session, but we helped preserve some memories of Erin’s pregnancy for him, and I learned some fun tidbits in the process. For example, have you heard of “smeyesing”? These ladies helped me out with some new vocabulary 😉 Of course, if you follow me on Facebook, you may know that the sweet newborn boy who I recently photographed is the very Nolan that Erin was waiting on back in late September — and he is an amazing blessing. But for now, here are some from Erin’s session!
This is one of my favorite families — we’ve always been able to relate well with each other with our toddlers going through the same hilarious and exhausting personality developments — but I have to say, this was a tough session. Not because of toddler craziness or even the heat, but the mosquitoes were completely, completely out of control. Definitely the worst weekend we had all summer for mosquitoes, and the grassy Montrose-area park we had our session in was swarming with them. This was in early August, and I still have the marks from the 30+ bites that I got (and that’s with bug spray). One of the disadvantages of being the one behind the camera… no hands to swat away bugs! Regardless, this family did a great job of brushing it off, and we got some adorable photos of their family of 3, plus baby on the way.
Thanks for looking! I am booked for full sessions through the end of the year but there is still time to book a mini session on October 12th, details found here.
I was so happy to photograph these two as they wait on the arrival of their first child! We met in downtown Houston and enjoyed slightly cooler temperatures (for the middle of summer) since it rained earlier in the day. It ended up being a beautiful evening, and this couple was a lot of fun. They were making jokes about not being able to hug around the baby, which made me laugh because I remember being pregnant like it was yesterday (since it practically was)! It’s so obvious to anyone observing them that they are best friends — considerate, candid, loving, and goofy with each other, all at once — and that they are going to make awesome parents. Congratulations, Christin & Bob!
I’m so excited for Amber and Jeremiah as they wait on their son to arrive in just a few short weeks! We met up early on Saturday morning to avoid some of the heat for this fun maternity session. Aren’t tiny baby Converse the cutest? Congratulations and can’t wait to meet Lucas!
I’m excited to share the first of my midsummer mini sessions that I’m offering weeknights in July only! While we had to reschedule around the only 2 days of rain Houston has had in several weeks, I’m so glad that finally met up with this beautiful family for their maternity photos. This mom came with so many fun ideas, and I think everyone was excited about their cute pink balloons! Their son is going to make such a great big brother to his baby sister — he was so energetic and happy!
